Lock 34 is situated on an island in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, adjacent to the town's downtown area, and forms part of the 386-kilometre Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site operated by Parks Canada. The lock features a single concrete structure built to replace an original flight lock constructed between 1882 and 1885, and offers an average lift of 7.2 metres. A natural waterfall is located on the lower side of the lock station. The station provides overnight mooring (up to two nights), shore power, washrooms, potable water, and a picnic area for visiting boaters. The lock operates seasonally, roughly from Victoria Day in mid-May through Thanksgiving in mid-October, and is staffed by Parks Canada personnel during operating hours.
