Lock 24 is a lock station located at kilometre marker 155.1 on the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site, positioned on the Otonabee River midway between Peterborough and Lakefield, Ontario. Originally constructed between 1895 and 1898, the lock tamed a stretch of river historically documented as dangerous rapids and waterfalls. The site is part of the broader 386-kilometre waterway managed by Parks Canada that connects Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. The lock station offers lockage for boaters, overnight mooring with a maximum stay of two nights, four oTENTik campsites available by reservation, a paddle dock, washrooms, showers, potable water, and a picnic area. Its large property and proximity to the Centennial Marsh make it a popular stop for both day visitors and overnight travellers.
