About

Petroglyphs Provincial Park, established in 1976, covers 1,643 hectares near Woodview, Ontario. The park is home to a sacred site known as 'The Teaching Rocks,' featuring the largest known concentration of Indigenous petroglyphs in Canada, depicting turtles, snakes, birds, and human figures. The park includes the Learning Place Visitor Centre, which explores Ojibway (Nishnaabe) cultural traditions through the teachings of the medicine wheel. McGinnis Lake, a rare meromictic lake where water layers do not intermix, is also located within the park, along with wildlife viewing opportunities.
