Doube’s Trestle Bridge

Doube's Trestle Bridge is a historic railway trestle bridge that serves as a notable point of interest along the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail, a section of Canada's national trail network running through the City of Kawartha Lakes. The bridge sustained fire damage and underwent funded repairs in 2025, and is situated along a trail corridor that follows an abandoned CN rail line connecting Durham Region through Lindsay to Omemee and on to Fowlers Corners. The surrounding trail supports hiking, walking, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling across a 53.8 km crushed limestone surface. The bridge and trail are managed by the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail Association, a volunteer-based not-for-profit charitable organization.
